Amy Horlacher, President
Amy Horlacher is a wife and mom of 4 amazing children (and one great son-in-law) …all of whom are avid library users and supporters! She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University. Amy serves as a volunteer at the library helping with Mother Goose Sings and Swings. She has served as secretary of the NVPL foundation since 2017 and she is currently serving as president. She also serves on the local JustServe.org committee. Amy home schools her children, travels, quilts, serves in her church and community and when there is any extra time, she reads.
J0dy Torrey, Secretary
Donna received her bachelor and doctoral degrees at Boston University, and her Master of Science at University of North Carolina. She is both a physical therapist with specialty in pediatrics, geriatrics, and fitness. She is a adjunct instructor at the University of Montana in the College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences. She consults at UMT Rural Institute. She has been Special Olympics (SO) Global Advisor for Fitness since 2001. In this capacity she coordinates global development of fitness assessment and programming for SO athletes, and fitness materials for families and coaches. When not working, Donna enjoys gardening (she is a Master Gardener), reading, playing with her Cardigan Welsh Corgis, ancestry and Ikebana.
Debbie Reid, Board Member
Eleven years ago, after a 27 year career in art education, Debbie, along with her husband, three horses, three dogs and a cat journeyed across the country from Maryland to Montana. In the past eleven years Debbie volunteered for the Bitterroot Humane Association and currently volunteers for the Bitterroot Water Forum and the Peregrin Falcon Watch. She has a Masters Degree in Education and loves to hike.
Fran Schmitz, Board Member
Fran Schmitz has been activite in the community since moving here in 2014. Fran and her family enjoy their time at North Valley Public Library, she has happily served on the Foundation Board since 2017. She served for 3 years on the Stevensville Youth Soccer board as Banquet Coordinator. Currently, she serves as president of the Stevensville Booster Club, working to connect our schools and community in an effort to support extra-curricular activities within the Stevensville School District. Fran has also held several leadership positions at her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Many of the volunteer positions Fran has held are working for children and youth in the community. It is by helping to mold our young people that we will mold the future of our communities and secure a bright future for everyone.
